See Changes Feature Class for details.=====================================================December 28, 2010During the course of December 17 thru December 28, 2010, performed many corrections to primarily the zoning layer, but also a few tweaks to the Gen Plan layer. These edits involved aligning the zoning/GenPlan to the parcel lines where the road portrayal changed when the basemap was "enhanced" a few years back, and designating the right-of-way of various scenic roads to -sr, which was missing from the scenic road row designation. This resulted in adjacent polygons which had the same designation, so they were merged together. The geographical location of the edit/update/change, in addition to other reference materials, will be identified in the Feature Class "Changes." The date of posting for the entire Geodatabase will be located in the Metadata for the Geodatabase itself. Therefore:1. To determine WHEN a Feature Class was last edited/updated/changed: Check this area here.2. To determine WHERE the Feature Class was last edited/updated/changed: Check the "Changes" Feature Class.3. To determine WHEN the Geodatabase and all Feature Classes were posted to the Server: Check metadata for the GeodatabaseThis method replaces the previous method established March 19, 2007 from this day forward. However, much useful information may still be obtained by using the other method.==============================================================As of March 19, 2007The entire geodatabase, and all shapefiles, are posted to the server as a whole. The General Plan Land Use coverage file [(X:\GeneralPlan\genplan)-Polygon Feature Class], amendment areas and special areas were all migrated into the feature dataset of this geodatabase.The general plan land use layer (scc_GenPlan Feature Class) was updated to reflect changes in land use due to changes in property ownership from private to public ownership. Data from public agencies was obtained directly from those groups or from data sources created by those groups. The data was collected during December 2003-January 2004 and verified using a combination of assessors parcel data, Win2Data, and the Recorder's Public Access Retrieval Information System (PARIS). All land area (single parcels or areas of multiple parcels) >5 acres having land use designations changing to "Other Public Open Lands" or "Regional Parks, Existing" were changed. All changes were approved by Bill Shoe on 5-20-05. A summary of these changes can befound in the file "GPChange5+acres.pdf".The following procedure was used to make the updates to the scc_GenPlan layer:1. Changed the land use designations using the Update (Coverage Tool) using the existing genplan layer as the input coverage and the proposed areas >5 acres as the update coverage.2. Used the dissolve tool to combine land areas with the same land use designation (field "GEN_PLAN")3. Used the "Multipart to Singlepart" tool to separate each multipart feature into singlepart features.4. The purpose of the General Plan Data Layer project was to verify the accuracy of all spatial data and information depicted on the 1994 General Plan map, including public land inventories, jurisdictional boundaries, USAs, etc.Four main sources were used (in order): our in-house planners, Greg Bazhaw and Bill Shoe, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Mid-Peninsula Open Space and GreenInfo Network.Paper maps were printed for the first two sources (Bill and Parks), and verified.Changes were incorporated with ArcInfo. The latter two (Mid-Pen and GreenInfo) sent electronic files (shapefiles) which were processed by using the Parcel layer (i.e. their shapefiles did not match our parcel layer and thus had to be manipulated). The resulting shapefiles were verified and changes were incorporated into the general plan using ArcInfo. |
