Description: Santa Clara County is within the top 1% of all U.S. counties in terms of ethnic diversity (as calculated using the Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index using Census 2010 racial/ethnic classifications). The major U.S. Census racial/ethnic classiifications represented in this diversity index are White, Hispanic, Asian & Black. Map symbology represents each census areas generalized proportion of each of these groups.
